Concert Coordinator

Concert Coordinator needed! Everyone enjoys the 9-week summer concert series in Browne's Addition. Now, we need a concert coordinator to work with the executive council to organize next year's 2010 series. We are looking for someone to provide some vision and leadership to help us in the ongoing process of deciding the future direction for the concert series. We are willing to pay a stipend for this sort of leadership. Will you step forward? If you even think you might be interested, contact MaryLou at mlsproul@gmail.com. Don't let the concert series fall by the wayside. Spread the word.

There's No Place Like Home

You Live in One of the Nation's 10 Greatest Neighborhoods

Here are some pictures from our gathering Wed night at the MAC.  Congrats to MaryLou Sproul who worked so hard along with Nikole Coleman from the Spokane City Planning Department to have Browne's Addition named as one of the nation's 10 Greatest Neighborhoods for 2009 by the American Planning Association.  This is an honor we can all be proud of.

In the pictures below Mayor Mary Verner announces the award as Leroy Eadie, acting Parks Director, and Jo Anne Wright, acting Planning Director, present the citation to MaryLou Sproul who turned the idea into action.

Another presentation of this award will take place at Monday's city council meeting.

There were other issues discussed at our session, and information on those items will follow in the next few days.

Greetings!

Just a quick reminder that the Pedestrian, Transportation and Traffic (PeTT) committee will be meeting next Tuesday, October 13th, at 7pm.  The PeTT committee meets at the East Central Community Center, 500 S. Stone.

The featured presenter Tuesday will be Andy Schenk, Street Department, who will talk about Spokane's new snow policy.  There will be time for Q&A.  Also on the agenda (time permitting), will be continued discussion regarding the Committee's name change, and early discussion of the next Street Bond campaign, primarily whether or not amenities should be included on the ballot.

This is an open meeting, so all are welcome.   Bring a friend!

Hope you are keeping warm,

Browne's Addition Gathering this Wed

The Browne's Addition Neighborhood Council and Steering Committee will be convening on Wed night, Oct 7 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the MAC (Museum of Arts and Culture).

We will be looking at the Human Services proposals for our Community Development allocation, reviewing the just passed concert series and planning for the next one, and discussing how the new bus line/schedule is working.

There is also a rumor there might be some VIPs with us (besides you, of course) to make a special presentation to the neighborhood.

This is no ordinary gathering, so don't miss it!
