2014 Regional Construction Map
      Spokane Regional Road Construction Map includes all construction projects county-wide that will impact traffic.  This year they are doing something new and only publishing it online, in an interactive format.  While that means no more paper maps, it also means people can now access it on their smartphones or other handheld devices.  It also allows user to zoon into smaller projects that are at the neighborhood-level and click on projects.

Cleaning From the Core-Needs More Volunteers!
Cleaning From the Core is the kickoff event for Spokane Gives week which will take place April 12th-19th.  Cleaning From the Core projects aim to clean up the downtown core of Spokane from Riverfront Park to Interstate 90.  The cleaning will go from 8:30 to 10:30am.  There will be an after event party from 10:30am-12:00pm.  To learn how you can get involved click more details.

Spokane City Council Member Jon Snyder will host a mobile office at Fire Station #4 on Friday, March 28 from 1 to 2 pm. This is the first mobile office Council Member Snyder has held this year.
Citizens are encouraged to attend and discuss issues, concerns and policies facing the City.
Council Member Snyder represents District 2, which includes the South Hill, Browne’s Addition, Peaceful Valley, the Downtown Core area and parts of East Central.
Fire Station #4 is located at 1515 W First Ave. Reservations are not needed.

New Business opens in Browne's Addition, Offers Job Opportunities

After being closed for the winter,  the NE corner of the traffic circle will spring to life again in May. The new owners of the casual dining restaurant-tavern are now conducting interviews for various positions.  The new business is Browne’s Tavern and they are looking for breakfast, afternoon and evening shifts.  Seeking prep cooks, line cooks, servers, sous chef, bartender, bar manager and floor manager. CDBG Task Force Developing Program Update
Spokane neighborhood representatives have formed a task force to develop a modern Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) neighborhood program.  Changes in Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations made it necessary to rethink the formula allocation model for neighborhood CDBG funding.  The Task Force will meet again on Thursday, March 27th from 6:00-7:30pm at the East Central Community Center.

Please mark your calendars! The Spokane Bike Swap is right around the corner on April 12 & 13. This is a great opportunity to get you pedaling this spring. And with May being Bike to Work Month, this is a perfect time to go check out hundreds of new and used bikes all in one place.
The Spokane Bike Swap Team needs to fill approximately 230 volunteer positions to ensure the success of this great community event. If you are able to volunteer, please click here. There is a summary of the volunteer positions and a sign up form. New this year! Volunteers will received an official bike swap t-shirt when they arrive for their first shift. Plus you can enjoy FREE David’s Pizza at the volunteer night onWednesday April 9.
