This Wednesday, Jan 6, the Neighborhood Council will be meeting from 6:30pm to 7:58pm at the MAC (Museum of Arts and Culture, 1st and Hemlock).
While there are some important issues before the neighborhood, we also want to take this opportunity to look at how we communicate in the 'hood. We have many different and poorly integrated methods (direct mail, flyers, the Blog, a Facebook page), but not a clear model for how we let folks know what is going on. This discussion leads as well to our very organizational structure: is the chair, vice chair, etc. still the way a neighborhood should be organized in 2010, or is there a more flattened and structure that would do us well?
The point is that the neighborhood doesn't exist for the Neighborhood Council, but the other way around. Maybe we can do things better and more responsively.
come and offer some ideas and suggestions for how we can be a more communicative neighborhood.
